Reaping and Sowing

Reaping And Sowing
Galatians 6:7-10 (NLT) 6:7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

I think that we sometimes overlook the basic principles that God has laid before us. A case in point would be the principle of reaping and sowing. We often live our lives with no concern for tomorrow and the consequences that might come our way. God is very clear – for every action there will be a reaction. If we sow good things – we will reap good things. If we sow bad things – we will reap its just reward. The admonition here is that we never let our guard down and that we never stop doing what is right and good. God is watching – always and He sees everything we do and say. He says, “at just the right time – we will reap a harvest of blessing.” Let’s keep our focus on the Lord today and not miss any opportunities to do the right thing. It is the key to sustainable success in the Lord.
