How Covid 19 Has Robbed Us

HOW COVID 19 HAS ROBBED US

One of the precious gifts from God to us is the gift of five senses – Touch, Hearing, Smell, Taste, and Sight.  COVID 19 has robbed us of one of those gifts – the gift of touch.  Touch is so important.  We need to touch one another and feel the warmth of presence in our lives.  Babies especially need to be touched bring them calmness and peace to their being.

Jesus used touch throughout His ministry:

Matt. 8:1 – “Jesus reached out His hand and touched him” – (The healing of the man with leprosy).

Matt. 20:34 – “Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes” – (Healing of the blind).

Mark 10:13 – “They brought young children to Him, that He might touch them”  (The blessing of the children).

In fact, this is what we are called to do with our kids every day – to touch them and place a blessing on their lives.

Luke 22:51 – But Jesus said, “This is enough” And He touched his ear and healed him.

Jesus was always healing dormant senses.

Scripture tells us to “call for the elders of the church to lay hands on the sick.”  (James 5:14.) We know that the anointing is activated through the laying of hands. The Corona Virus stopped that.

My prayer lately is that God would restore to all of us the gift of “touch.”  In the meantime, rise up early in the morning.  Take a seat in the presence of His majesty.  Expect a touch from the Father and allow God to “heal your soul.”
