“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Leviticus 26:6-8 (NLT)

“I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land. 7 In fact, you will chase down your enemies and slaughter them with your swords. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand! All your enemies will fall beneath your sword.

Prayer Points

1. PEACE

​Lord, my Prince of Peace, the God of Shalom- perfect completeness and wholeness, I worship You today. You are the never-changing, always dependable One. There is no shifting or wavering with Your character. You are completely worthy of my adoration, my worship and my trust. I confess and repent of any and all anxious thoughts and worry. Your Word tells me to be anxious for nothing- nothing big and nothing small, nothing at all! I thank You for Your gift of peace. Your peace that passes all my understanding, Your peace that comforts me even when circumstances and situations do not change. Today, I pray Your gift of peace for:

​Our families- every member, every conversation, every activity, every situation

​Our finances- stability of assets, with unexpected expenses or shortfalls, in generously giving, in being disciplined with tithing and budgeting

​Our church- in all ministry areas and outreaches, our services, among pastors and staff

​Our hospitals- patients in pain and suffering, families experiencing loss, doctors/nurses/techs working to help those in need

​Our prisons- the incarcerated, guards and wardens, families visiting inmates

​Our community- neighbors and friends, (on) the streets, our police/fire/public servants

​Our nation-cities dealing with civil unrest, peace between denominations and churches, areas affected by terrorism and natural disaster, high crime, poverty, the stock market, Congress, our schools, hospitals

​Our world-“hot zones” like the middle East, Jerusalem and Israel, world governments, Christian brothers and sisters experiencing persecution for their faith, U.S. military bases around the world

These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages…They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Prayer Points

1. HEALING

Jehovah Rapha, Healer, Deliverer, My Lord and Savior- I come to You today with gratitude and praise. I thank You that You are worthy of my time and attention. I thank You that when I cry out to You, You hear me. I choose to believe that You are faithful and dependable and that everything You have said in Your Word is true. Today I pray for myself, my family, and others:

​-Physical healing from: lingering illnesses, diseases and disorders of the body, infirmities from accidents or poor choices/past sin, cancers, AIDS, viruses like- Ebola, Bird-flu, West-Nile, etc.

​-Mental/emotional healing: from past trauma or abuse, scars from habitual sins

​-Relational healing: between husbands and wives, parents and children, men and women, broken friendships, and Christian denominations ​

​-Healing among ethnic, racial, economic, and political groups in our nation and the larger body of Christ

​-Divine health to be imparted to Christians including energy, stamina, wellness, and strength to do the work of the Lord

​

2. MIRACLES

Lord, Your Word is True and I choose to believe that You truly are the God of the impossible. My faith may only be the size 
of a mustard seed but You said that is all it takes. Today I stir up my faith and stretch it out because of Who You are. I pray for:

​-A fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit: in my life, family, church, our nation, the world

​-Boldness in: evangelism, praying for others, praying big prayers

​-Signs and wonders: when the gospel is sincerely preached, when I pray for others, in my church, in America 

​-An army of prayer warriors and intercessors to arise in our church

​-Faith to be stirred up in Christians: in our church, nation, and the world

​-Super-natural answers to long-standing problems: finances including miraculous erasure of debt, healing, wisdom, reconciliations, jobs, salvations, vehicles, homes, infertility 

​-Manifestation and activation of spiritual gifts in: our own lives, families, church, the Body of Christ​

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him…For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

Zephaniah 3:16-17 (NLT)

On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be, “Cheer up, Zion! Don’t be afraid!
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Prayer Points

1. PROTECTION

​Lord, today I recognize and confess Your complete covering and protection over my life and the lives of those I love. I thank that You have promised to watch over me, to care for me, and to guard me. I draw near to You today, I pull in as close as I can under the shelter of Your covering. Even in the midst of frightening times- terrorism, wickedness, disease, stock market crashes, potential persecution, and accidents, I know Youare faithful! You are Mighty and Able! I pray Your covering over:

​My family- spouse, children, extended family 

​My finances- assets, business transactions, bank accounts

​My dwelling place- home, property, car, business/workplace

​My health- body, mind, spirit, and soul

​My church- pastors and leaders, congregation, buildings and property, finances

​My community-local and national from terrorism, wickedness, evil influences

2. COURAGE

​Because You are with me Lord and because You are strong, mighty, and able, I declare that I am not afraid. I thank You that I am confident and competent to do whatever You ask me to do and go wherever You ask me to go. Truly, I “can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13). Today, I pray for courage to:

​Trust You in difficult and painful circumstances

​Boldly and lovingly share about Jesus at home, work, school, and in the community

​Step out in faith pursuing the dreams You’ve given me

​Develop greater discipline with my time, talents, and money

​Take a stand for righteousness in the face of ridicule and persecution

​Lead my family in the ways of the Lord

Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

…for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Prayer Points

1. SURRENDER

​Lord, today I give you all that I am. I offer my body- my mind, my heart, my soul, and my strength to You. I ask You to fill me with Your Spirit that I will live for You. (Spend time in confession and repentance if there is any sin the Holy Spirit is pointing out to you- review the scriptures and list from day one.) Your Word tells me to “trust in You with all my heart, and lean not on my own understanding; in all my ways to acknowledge You and You shall direct my paths”. (Prov. 3:5-6) So as I surrender to You today, I ask for Your wisdom and leading regarding:

​Finances- getting out of debt, developing wise spending habits, tithes and offerings

​Personal relationships- friendships, dating/marriage, business partnerships

​Commitments- extra-curricular activities, hobbies, ministry, work

2. WITNESS

​Lord, it is hard to be a witness for You so much of the time. The world has grown very dark with evil; injustice and wickedness seem to have no end. The unrighteous appear to be prosperous and there is no accountability for their sin. Temptation to sin lurks and lingers all around me. And the threat of persecution for my faith in You grows stronger every day. However, I know that Your word says that “You know the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall perish”(Ps. 1:6). As You transform me into the person You created me to be, I pray that I will be/have:

​Light in the darkness- at school, work, home, the community

​Consistent- in private or public that I will have Christ’s character

​Self-control-of my mouth, emotions, on social media, and with food and money

​Humble- putting others first, seeking to serve, surrendering my rights ​

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NLT)
“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Mark 12:29-31 (NLT)
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’No other commandment is greater than these.”

Prayer Points
As you pray, meditate of the prayer points below but just know that today’s prayer path is a little different than all the rest. Before we can intercede on behalf of ourselves, our families, our church, and our community, nation, and world, we must align our hearts with the Lord’s perfect will. The prayer points are provided only as an example or guideline. We encourage you to take your time as you pray through them, personalize them and make them your own. The questions at the end of each section are given in order to inspire you as you pray. Take your time as you pray through the prayer path. Please don’t rush. This is your time with the Lord and if you can’t finish it all in one sitting it is alright to come back to it later in the day and pick up right where you left off.

Today we recognize that the Lord our God alone is God. He is Holy, Just, Righteous, and is the ONLY ONE deserving of worship and adoration. We take time to allow the Holy Spirit to examine our lives and bring forward any sin that needs to be confessed and repented of so that we may be able to pray effective, fervent prayers during the Prayer Surge.

1. RECOGNITION
​Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You alone are the only true God; before You there is no other and besides You none can stand. You alone deserve all my attention, all my devotion, all my worship, and all my obedience. Truly, who is like You? I choose to bless You today. I remember all that You have done and all that You are- Your eternal love, Your constant faithfulness, Your intentional righteousness, Your present help in times of trouble, Your perfect holiness.

2. CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE
​Lord God Almighty, humbly I confess that I have not loved you with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength. I have allowed other things, other people, other desires, other passions to crowd into my heart, my soul, my mind, and my strength. At times, I have given myself over to the desires of my flesh and the temptations of the world. At times, I have grown weary in doing good and in walking with You in obedience. I confess that I have held onto offenses, bitterness, and have allowed unforgiveness to take root in me. But today in recognition of who You are and what You have done for me, I am choosing to agree with Your Word against myself- my sin and any rebellion that I have harbored in my life. As I confess these sins I also decide and will to turn from these sins. I am intentionally deciding that they will no longer be a part of my life. I ask for You to fill me with Your Truth and Power and that by the Holy Spirit my patterns, habits, tendencies, and desires will be to live for You.

​Wrath (extreme anger, combined with sarcasm or cruel wit/humor)

​Lying (exaggerations, half-truths, little white lies, deceit)

​Stealing (taking what is not yours including ideas, property, affection, attention)
​Sexual Immorality (fornication, adultery, pornography, lust)

3. PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING
​Lord I thank You that You are slow to anger and full of grace and mercy. I praise You that You have said that “if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me my sins and to cleanse me of all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9). I praise You that You are patient with me as I learn and grow and that You are compassionate and understanding of my weaknesses. I worship You because You made a way for my salvation and that one day I will live with You forever in heaven. I thank You that You have promised to never leave me or forsake me (Heb. 13:5) and that You are and will be my strength to do Your will every day.

4. COMMITMENT
​Lord I commit to live for You and You alone today. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I choose to:
​*walk worthy of the calling by which I have been called (Eph. 4:1)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

“For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.” Job‬ ‭23:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today is my birthday!  I am 62 years old.  That’s 22,630 days on this earth.

Mark Twain once said - “The two most important days in your life is when you were born and the day you found out why.”  I really believe this.

I gave my heart to Christ at the age of 18 months old on my mom’s lap.  I have served Christ my whole heart and know nothing different.

I’ve lived in 17 houses and have visited 39 countries in my lifetime.  I have proclaimed the word of God to probably over 1 million people around the world.

I’ve had the audience of some of the most influential and important people of the world and have prayed and ministered to them.

I have pastored 4 wonderful churches and love the places that God has assigned to me - especially living in the High Desert.

I have many friends who have been a great blessing to me and my life.

I am married to Denise (the love of my life) for 42 years and am the father of  two beautiful daughters and two son-in-laws.  I am a grandpa to 5 grandkids.

I a musician and have played with great musicians in some of the largest venue’s  including Los Angeles Coliseum. 

I am in love with God - deeply.  My relationship with Him is deep and I enjoy His presence on a daily basis.

My life verse has been from Ephesians 1:3 - “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”

I am truly a blessed man. I've had many ups and downs but I can testify that God’s sustaining power has brought me through many things.

I don’t carry any grudges or have unforgiveness toward anyone.  My heart is clear.

I am hopeful and I am expectant for what God has in store for the future. 

I know that God is not done with me and that He still has a great work ahead and I am looking forward to many more birthdays ahead.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

““But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!” Job‬ ‭19:25-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Here’s a fact: every person will at some time or another go through times of trouble and through some form of struggle.  It is simply a part of life.

When these times come what do you hold on to when there seems to be no answers?

Where do you draw hope from when there simply seems to be no hope?

I’ve been pastoring for 40+ years and have seen the old and young and the rich and poor go through times of trouble. Nobody is exempt.

Yet God, in his providential wisdom, knows that these times will come for each of us and in His love gave us an example in His friend Job. 

Job was a man who lost everything. He lost his family, his finances, his health and even friends. 

Job could not answer the questions of why such terrible tragedy would come knocking at his door, but in the darkness of it all Job found strength in what he did know....

First off, JOB KNEW HE HAD A PERSONAL SAVIOR - “For I know that my redeemer liveth,...”

He had a personal, living Savior. No matter how dark things got - down deep he knew that God would come through for him.

I like the lyrics of the song - “Because He Lives” - 

       Because He lives I can face tomorrow
       Because He lives all fear is gone
       Because I know He hold the future
       And life is worth the living just because He lives

I know that my REDEEMER liveth - A kinsmen redeemer was a family member whose role is to vindicate/make things right.  Job knew that he was part of the family of God and that God in the end would make things right.

It might be dark right now and you might now see beyond your current difficulty but hold on to God and don’t lose hope.  God is on your side.

Secondly, JOB KNEW THERE’S A NEW DAY COMING (19:25b-27)

“And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!” Job‬ ‭19:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Whether now or eventually later - Jesus is coming again.  He is returning to His children and we are going to live with Him forever.

He is our REDEEMER and He will make things right.

I love what Revelation 21:1-5 tells us…

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”” Revelation‬ ‭21:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus will someday make all things new.

Jesus, our Redeemer will give us a...

• New Body
• New Mind
• New Home
• New Beginning

Today might be a day of trouble but it is not your destiny. Don’t let go of God’s hand and you WILL come through whatever trouble that you are facing today.
