Take Authority Over Sin

Romans 6:12-13 (NLT) 6:12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

We never get away from it. From the day we are born to the day we die we deal with sin issues in our lives. Sin comes in and tries to control everything about you – your actions, your conduct, your speech, and on and on. But there is hope. It doesn’t have to control you and you have authority over it. As you surrender to God and become dead to sin – you can turn the curse of sin around. Instead of it controlling you – you can control it. God gives us the power and authority to have victory over sin every day. We can instead, use our bodies as an instrument to honor and bless God almighty. Instead of our body being a weapon for sin we can now channel it to be a powerful force for the glory of God. Instead of hate – we show love. Instead of gossip we speak words of blessing. Instead of lust – we show love. Surrender to God today and allow Him to work on your behalf to bring about the victory that you so desire in your life.
