Loving Well

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT) 13:4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

If there’s anything that God has ingrained into my life – it is the concept of love. I know that if I’m less then perfect in other areas of my life – I need to do extremely well in this area. I need to be at the top of my game in my love toward God, my family, my church and yes – others. It’s not always easy as there are some people who make it very difficult to love but I get to practice forgiveness over and over and God gives me the strength to do that. I am blessed when people give me compliments about my sermon or the church, etc. But I am most gratified when someone tells me “thank you for loving me.” I pray that at the end of my life my God will be able to say, “You loved well.”
